I think you have a veritable "Badger" there... Mikey's dog. I wrote a children's book about him. Only Badger's brain was small like a little pea. I'm sure Potter's brain is regular sized as he is a part poodle.
Mikey will defend his dog as very smart. There are smart things about Badger only sometimes his ADHD overcame it.
