Baseball

Well, it is baseball time again. This year we signed both Brandon and Andrew up to play ball. This was the first year for FYBA to have 4 year old T-ball, so we thought we would let Andrew give it a try. I thought with this being Brandon’s 4th year that maybe Andrew would enjoy playing too. Plus, his doctor said that we need to get him involved in stuff because of his social anxiety.

Brandon’s practices started and he seems to be better then last year. I think his new glasses must have a lot to do with that. He has had two games so far, they one the first game but lost the last one. I was unable to see them due to Potter having puppy class. 

Andrew’s practices seemed to get all rained out. That was a bummer too. They only had practice scheduled once a week on Saturday’s and it seemed to rain either on Saturday or Friday night. Finally the week of the first game we were able to have practice and meet the coach and other players. The first practice we just terrible. Andrew screamed his head off and attached himself to Brad’s leg. We thought that if Brad helped the coach that maybe Andrew would have an easier time. NOT! Andrew ended up sitting out and watching the practice while Brad helped the coach. The next practice Andrew wanted me to take him so I did and Brad took Brandon to his practice at the cages. I played it up and tried to get him so excited about it, and told him if he could be Andrew the Brave we would go for ice cream afterward. Well he did much better but I had to stand in the field with him, well, right next to him but he stood there. If the coach told him to get the ball he would all of a sudden scream and run for me. Not good. There was ONE time where he went for the ball with out anyone saying something. That was a good thing but someone else got to the ball before him. He also would not get up to bat. That was not good either. I did notice that he was not the only one who had trouble, which made me feel much better. I would say he was the worst one, people could hear him scream a mile away. That was bad. At least the other children were quite about it
.
At his first game we once again tried to get him all excited about it. I thought we were good, but when I left the dug out to sit on the bleachers on the other side of the field (behind the outfield) he started to scream and cry. I could hear him from where I was sitting. I thought I would try to sit it out a few minutes to see if he would get over it. That did not happen. So I ended up going over to get him. Once again Brad was helping the coach but when he came to check on us we just decided to leave. Brad had had enough and Andrew wasn’t going to even give it a chance. I am not sure what to do about this. I hate to give up so fast, but then I do feel like I am torturing him. If you could hear him I am sure you would think that is what we were doing too. It was that bad. We have an appointment for Zack at the doctors on Tuesday for a recheck on his ears so I plan on asking him about what to do about Andrew, because I just don’t have a clue. Brandon was never like this.

Well, this is getting to be a little long so I am going to stop typing now.
When I remember to take my camera to the games I will post some pictures.

Andrew

Well, I think that the rash is gone. It looked like it was clearing up yesterday. I have yet to really check him out today, but what I could see was good! I hope he doesn't get that again. It was just terrible.

Andrew update

Well, what Andrew has is some long word that I don't remember. I think it is in the same family of hives. The poor boy, I feel so sorry for him. He itches all over. I hope this passes soon. Now all we do is try to keep him cool and medicated with Benadryl. The doctor said it could be an allergic reaction to something or a virus. It is hard to tell. I guess we just wait and hope he doesn't start any other symptoms. He gave me a list of things to watch for. I hope he don't get any of it. I will just keep my fingers crossed.

Here we go again.

Another week back to the doctors. This is not fun. I had to take Zachary back to the doctor on Monday. His eye was all nasty when he woke up. He had another or the same ear infection. So he is back on medicine. This time the doctor did not have any samples. :(

Today I am off to take Andrew to the doctor. Yesterday when he woke up he had these little red bumps. At first I thought maybe it was bug bites. Then later that day it was getting worse. So I gave him some medicine and put some cream on him. Today it is really bad. So off to the doctor we go. We will see what happens there. Again not fun!
Well I need to get going.
More later.

Family Update

Well, it has been a rough week here. All three of the boys were sick this week. I went to Brandon's school to help out at the book fair on Tuesday and he came in the library and told me he threw up. So I had to bring him home. Luckily he did not get sick again, but he did sleep the rest of the day and night. When I got home Zachary was not doing so well. He had a fever and was just feeling terrible. So I had to call to see if we could get him in to see the doctor. They were able to get him in and he has an ear infection. Not fun! Wednesday Brandon stayed home from school, he said his stomach still hurt. Today Andrew woke me up at 3:00am. He said he had a bad dream. I told him to climb up in bed with me. He started tossing and turning then he said his ear hurt. So back to the doctors again today, and guess what.... he has an ear infection too. Why is it that everyone will be healthy every thing is all fine and dandy and once we don't have health insurance everyone gets sick. I had to go to the doctor a few weeks ago. I had strept throat and now the boys with the ear infections. I hope this is the end of it until we get insurance. It has been a very rough week for me. I am looking forward to the weekend. It has to be better. Tomorrow Brandon is scheduled to have baseball practice and Andrew has t-ball practice on Saturday. We will see. According to the weather we are going to get rain. So it all may be rained out.
