May 7th

My friend Kristen came in town from California on Thursday. I was able to see her on Friday and again on Saturday. It was so nice to see her again. Her flight leaves on Monday.:( She had talked about going out to breakfast Monday morning before she leaves for the airport. So I hope I get to see her once more before she goes.
On her way here she had a layover and at the airport there was a Harley store. She was able to get my Dad and Teri a couple of shirts. I know my Dad was very excited about that. He likes them both and said that they were going to share them.

Friday Dad, Teri, Brad and I went to see Bill Engvall at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati. That was our first time being there. It was a pretty nice place. Our seats were great! This place was much nicer then when Teri and I went to see Larry the Cable Guy. It was easier to see, well we were much closer but the way the seats were we were able to over people heads. At Larry's show there were lots of cowboy hats so they got in the way. It was such a great time I can't wait to go somewhere like that again. I think Brad really enjoyed it too.

ER visit

Monday has become my day off from babysitting so I needed to get a lot of running done. I started by taking Andrew to school and then went to the grocery. As I was unloading the groceries Zack was in the garage. When I was finished getting the bags in I go to the door to get him in. As he was coming up to the steps he slipped and hit his face on the step. It seemed to go in slow motion, I think every time one of the boys get hurt it seems to be that way. Anyway I picked him up and started loving on him to try to get him to stop crying. When it first happened it was a flash back to when Andrew fell and hit his face on the fire place and had to get stitches. When I didn’t see blood at first I thought we were in the clear, but when Zack looked at me I saw blood and lost it. Then Brad called to tell me he was on his way home from work (he had to work late) I told him Zack was hurt and I could not talk. I tried to look to see where it was coming from but I couldn’t quite see at first. Then I noticed that his right front tooth was pushed back. I called the pediatrician and they told me to take him to Children’s Hospital, and that I had to calm down. Easier said then done. I called my Dad and asked him to come over. I was a mess. I don’t think Dad could really understand what I was saying I was freaking out so bad. I don’t handle this kind of stuff well. After his mouth stopped bleeding and Zack and I calmed down a notch I tossed my cold groceries in the fridge. Then Dad got here and sat with me until Brad got here. Then we went to get Andrew from school and made our way to downtown Cincinnati. We were checked in and then given a room in which we sat for over a half an hour and no one came in. I then woke up Brad to push the call button. (Zack was sleeping on me.) They said they would send someone in. I was much calmer by this time we had been at the hospital for a while but I started to have tightness in my chest. I guess it was anxiety, but I couldn’t handle it any more so I went to the desk and was nice but kind of went off complaining that we had been in this room for over 45 minutes and not one person came in to see us. They started to explain to me why and then they got on it. Shortly after that we were sent out of the ER upstairs to the Dentists to be checked out. That went much smoother. We didn’t have to wait long at all. That was the best part. At first the dentist thought he should pull the tooth, but when we were getting Zack all strapped down (not fun)he got a better look in his mouth and found that the tooth was not as loose as he first thought and that maybe he would tighten back up. That was a big relief. I really didn’t want him to have to go for 5 years without a front tooth, but we were going to do what we had to. We do have to keep an eye on it to make sure he doesn’t get an infection, which could lead to having it pulled. Then we were able to leave!! Yeah! So we finally got home at 4:00pm and we had left the house at about 11:00am. Andrew and Zack both did so well at the hospital I was so proud of them. For two little ones who did not have anything to eat since about 7:45am they were great. Of course when we got home they sure did eat a bunch. We finished the day with Brad going to bed and us going to Brandon’s ball game.
So not much on my list of things to do got done today, maybe I will be able to get something done tomorrow evening after everything is done, dinner and homework and another doctor appointment.
At first I thought we weren’t doing too badly with out insurance, Cobra would cost us about $1000 a month and we weren’t there yet with all the appointments we had, that may have just changed. Oh well, I guess we will find out soon enough.
